The TruPrint 5000 is a partially automated, highly productive 3D printing machine. Once the build cylinders are put into the TruPrint?5000, the machine automatically takes over the start of the LMF process at the press of a button. This replaces the otherwise manual set up and increases the process reliability.

Maximise your productivity with the TRUMPF fullfield multilaser: three 500 watt TRUMPF fiber lasers simultaneously scan the entire build area (100% overlap), which ensures that you achieve the best build rates. All of the lasers can be flexibly allocated in the build area, which gives the components an optimal surface quality without any seam marks.

Through preheating of up to 500°C, you can achieve a visibly better component quality for numerous applications and materials from sectors such as tool and mould making, the aerospace industry and medicine. In this way, you can benefit from fewer support structures and fewer stress cracks, for example. Furthermore, some materials actually require a temperature of at least 500°C, so that they can be processed in the first place.

Take advantage of a detailed quality check and documentation, layer-by-layer. This enables you to detect process deviations early on and to visualise areas of the component that are critical. In addition, you can automatically analyse the data against a reference part. You can also monitor all of the weld pools in parallel with ease.

As the build and supply cylinders can be exchanged quickly, cylinder setup and powder removal for build jobs can be performed parallel to the LMF process. This reduces idle time and non-productive time and increases the machine's productivity.

The 500-watt fibre lasers operate using a wavelength of around 1,070 nm. The focal diameter, which can be individually adjusted between 100 and 500 μm, means it is possible to react flexibly to differing component requirements.

Additive manufacturing allows you to create castings with deep ribs in a reliable manner. Cooling close to the contour effectively prevents the overheating of domed areas on sliders, enabling you to realise shorter cycle times. At the same time, this improves the micro-crystalline structure of the casting, which in turn increases its load capacity.

At the beginning of the process chain for additive manufacturing is the preparation of data for the 3D design and production program. The TruTops Print software package with Siemens NX supports you in every work step when preparing data for 3D printing. In this way, you can generate support structures and flexibly organise the lasers in the build area. The integrated build processor then seamlessly converts your design data into a build job file that can be read by the machine. This process breaks down the components for the printing process into individual layers and defines the corresponding laser paths. With four different profile sides available for use, you can achieve a perfect, uniform powder coating and benefit from the highly durable recoater component X profile, as well as a robust process.
Note: this option is compatible with preheating up to 200°C.

Additional optics protective glass cassette

The optics protective glass cassette is a holder for additional protective glasses above the build platform, a protective glass for the laser, a protective glass for the pyrometer, and a protective glass for the process monitoring camera. Integrated gas flow prevents the protective glasses from getting dirty too quickly. The entire protective glass cassette can be removed, which means the protective glasses can also be cleaned outside of the machine.
